Deegan's "SHOW" and "TELL":
Deegan has been very excited about HIS own "baby bi-oh-lin" since I got mine for Christmas. He has always been over-the-top-obsessed with LITTLE EINSTEINS and I sware to you he can pick out any melody that they have ever featured on that show...he has them all memorized! He has been able to name instruments and pick them out of a song on the radio (yeah, I love to drive around listening to classical music! It calms me and the kiddos.) Anyway, I started to consider whether or not he would really be able to take lessons yet, and Ryan and I decided to give it a go...My (OUR) teacher is affordable, and I was able to pick this violin up on e-bay for a whoppin' $25.50...I got it for $10.50, but my s/h was $15. Still a good deal! Supposedly, it is a $500 violin, so we are VERY careful with it because who knows if I could replace it for that cost later? Anyway, he has wanted to take his baby violin everywhere we go, so we arranged to take it to school for show and tell. He starts lessons on Tuesday, so cut the beginner some slack...he'll get better-promise!
I showed Deegan a bunch of you-tubes of 3 year-olds playing violin and he just kept saying "Me too! Me too!", so we figure he really wants to do it, plus we have all his Dr.'s saying no contact sports, so if this is going to be his "thing", why not get started? I'll keep you posted on his progress.
(Notice Ashlyn's feet? I think she's made of rubber...)
Ryan and I hit the 10 year mark on December 20, 2007. How time flies when you're having a good time. We have spent 10 years having babies it feels like, but we are moving on from that phase and now we are focusing on raising our "babies". We love to spend time with them in the yard, swimming, going to BYU football games, playing games and of course...eating sweets!
I am a mother of four, and a wife to the perfect man! (They do exist!) We have the perfect dream family...2 boys, and 2 girls. My girls, Kaeleigh(9), and Ashlyn(1), are girly girls, and my boys, Carson(5), and Deegan(2) are rough and rugged, tough, smelly boys. I get to stay home and I think that makes me so lucky! I am first witness to many of our favorite "firsts" in our children's lives. I am the healer, the baker, the mender, the judge, the counselor, the gardener (at least I try) and the peacemaker...I almost forgot that I am the maid...at least that's what Carson calls me.
Ryan is the best husband any woman could ever ask for. He keeps me grounded and likes to give me reality checks! I need that if you know me. He is always cautious in his approach to a sensitive situation. He talks to himself everywhere! When we first got married, it drove me crazy...now I find myself sneaking around trying to hear what he's talking about. He says the most successful people talk to themselves. After living with this for 10+ years, I am a believer. I am not talking financial success, but any kind. He has a way to be able to present himself well and he has already planned on how to handle a situation beforehand. I am sure he has used this method on me several times. Aside from Ryan's funnies...and there are many (that I love and adore) he is the best dad! He always makes time to spend with his kids doing whatever they want...making forts out of pillows and sheets, having slumber parties, making up original bedtime stories including our children as the main characters on some crazy adventure. He encourages them to use their imagination which is great! He encourages them to be active as well. He is a great teacher to them. He shares his knowledge with them and teaches by example as well. Ryan is not afraid to try anything. This is opposite of me, but I live vicariously through him. I think he is absolutely amazing. He treats me like a goddess, and floods me with compliments that I usually think he makes up, but yet he has a way of making me believe him. He makes me laugh and smile. He is my best friend!
KAELEIGH
Kaeleigh is our original princess...doted over for years. She approves of her placement in our family. She is very responsible and is indeed a blessing to our family...the perfect first child. She easily makes the right choices and sets a great example for her siblings. Her talents include, but are not limited to: playing piano, singing, ballet, WALKING ON HER TOES (:, and of course...leadership (for her younger siblings.) She is a great friend to everyone. She is very caring and has a good heart towards all.
CARSON
Carson is one of those kids you need to be careful around. He could make you believe anything! He has an easy way into anyones heart. We get lots of offers for people to take him if we ever decide we don't want him anymore...that won't ever happen. He smiles his killer smile ALL the time and our home is filled with his giggles. He is very animated and playful. He is so thoughtful and just about the most sensitive kid...towards Ashlyn and I at least. He will make a great father and husband...Ashlyn and know 1st hand. He loves to nurture the two of us. He's always happy and loves to do kind things for us.
Deegan, Deeg, Deegster, Duders, deega-deega-deek...the kid with a million nick-names
I love this picture of Deegan! It is so rare to see him holding still...especially long enough to snap a picture. Deegan is really getting to me lately...in a good way. Every day, I am falling deeper in love with this child. He is wrapping me tighter around his finger with every passing moment. I love our alone time. He gets snuggly and he loves to stroke my face (inbetween a couple of swats and swings...this is his humor!) Deegan loves his siblings and laughter. He is our comedian and resident copy-cat. He thrives on attention and loves to be the center of it. Deegan has the softest features. His coloring is just beautiful. The girls are going to melt over him. He has the brightest blue eyes...like his Daddy, but they are brighter with his blond hair, and his eyelashes go on forever, perfectly curled! His lips are rose red, and he has the cutest little button nose. His hair is silky soft. I love to run my fingers through his hair. I have waited 2 1/2 long years to have Deegan tell me he loves me and finally with a lot of focus, he can mutter "yuv yoo".
ASHLYN
Ashlyn is the perfect baby. She is happy all the time and she is a great sleeper! She loves attention and she adores her sister and brothers. She is easily excited and has the cutest giggle! Ashlyn loves to dance or copy any body movement you suggest to her to copy (bopping your head, shaking head, shrugging shoulders, swaying side to side, bouncing up and down, etc.) She picks up on things quickly and is enlarging her vocabulary very fast. She is starting to not like to share her Mommy with Deegan, but she still loves him. They make very cute play pals while the older kids are at school. One of my favorite things Ashlyn does is when she plays with her tongue. She can do all kinds of tricks with it. She can roll it, twist it, and her favorite is wagging it side to side as fast as she can.

What a good idea to have him start now. He is so cute. I can't wait to hear him play some more and we would all love to hear you play too.
